Via Mater Christi
Outside scene
It is a small country church built in the 17th century thanks to the devotion of the faithful and of the canon Orazio Follerio, Treasurer of the Chapter, near the ancient crypt of the Mater Christi. According to the legend, the Virgin appeared to a woman and ordered her to remove a holy image from the crypt and to worship it in a church.
Inside scene
The end of the presbytery houses the altar, where a wooden statue of the Mater Christi created in the first half of the 19th century dominates the nave.
On the left wall there is the coat of arms of the Follerio family and an epigraph that recalls a restoration of the church carried out in 1856.
Roof
The church, oriented to the East, has a bell-gable with two bells on the left side and a burial ground used until 1888.
